november.alpha.kilo.november.echo.kilo

well, it's been a while since my last post and i'm afraid to say that this will probably be a typical pace for updates here for a while. apologies to anyone out there that actually dug any of this.

it's all because of my return to the tundra and the ridiculous workdays i'll be putting in here for the next few weeks. i'll try to carve out some time to relay some of the shit that happens here but, as it stands right now, i look to be busy as fuck. things like rerunning power lines to my cabin, waking up in the middle of the night to work on our barge at low tide, mending all that the winter wrecked, etc. will be consuming most of my time and energy. check back on me though--i don't plan on giving up.

in the meantime, go check out what karl is doing. (big ups, karl, and thanks for the kind words)

you should also head over to locust music and pick something up. these guys are doing some really great things. send them some of your expendable income in exchange for some damn fine sounds from the likes of henry flynt(this guy is dope), michael hurley (just picked up this and am digging the hell out of it), the sun city girl's sir richard bishop, and my favorite opera school drop-out.

much love from the booming metropolis of naknek,

on the edge of sleeping

Califone video from Cambridge's Middle East. It's 20 minutes of live footage interrupted by snippets of an interview with Tim Rutilli. Not so sure that I'm down with the edit work on it but, having very slim chances of ever catching these fellas live, I'll take what I can get. The encore of "There's a Star Above the Manger Tonight" (an old Red Red Meat song) is pretty cool.

Chester Brown is rereleasing 'Ed the Happy Clown' in serialized reprinting for Drawn & Quarterly Publications.

Close and getting ever closer to buying a cabin from some friends in Houston, Alaska. It's been over 10 years since I've kept anything resembling a stable address so the thought of purchasing this land scares the shit outta me. Yes, I have problems with commitment.
